Website Screenshot Tool: Full-Page Screenshots of Any URL

Take a full-page screenshot of any website for free. Capture the whole scrolling page or the visible screen at desktop, tablet, or phone size, then download it.

How do I take a full-page screenshot of a website?

  1. Paste the page URL into the field above, or pick one of the examples.
  2. Leave Capture on Full page to get the entire scrolling page, or choose Visible area for the first screen only.
  3. Pick a screen size: Desktop (1920 × 1080), Laptop (1440 × 900), Tablet (768 × 1024), Mobile (390 × 844).
  4. Click Take screenshot, then download the image or open it in a new tab.

What is a full-page screenshot?

A full-page screenshot, also called a long screenshot or scrolling screenshot, captures the whole document from the top of the page to the footer in one tall image. A normal screenshot only shows what fits in the browser window. Full-page captures are what you want for design reviews, archiving, and sharing a complete landing page as a single file.

How do I screenshot an entire webpage without an extension?

Desktop browsers can do it for the page you have open. In Chrome, open DevTools, press Ctrl+Shift+P (Cmd+Shift+P on a Mac), and run Capture full size screenshot. In Firefox, right-click the page, choose Take Screenshot, then Save full page.

This tool does the same job from a URL. You can capture a page at phone width from a laptop, capture a page you have not opened, and share the image without installing anything.

Why does the screenshot look different from my browser?

Pages change with screen size, location, cookie consent, and login state. The tool loads each page fresh in a browser with no cookies, waits for it to render, dismisses the cookie banners and popups it detects, and never logs in. Content that only appears after a click may be missing, and a capture of the same URL and settings can be reused for up to a day, so very recent edits may not show yet.

How do I take website screenshots with an API?

Use the website screenshot API. Send POST /v1/web/scrape with formats.screenshot set to true and screenshotParams.area set to fullPage. You can also choose PNG, JPEG, or WebP, set the viewport size, switch to dark mode, and get the page's HTML or Markdown in the same request.

Each screenshot costs 1 credit, and the free plan includes 1,000 credits every month. Screenshots are one output of the web scraping API, so the same key also covers scraping, crawling, and search. See pricing for paid plans.

What can you use website screenshots for?

  • Design reviews and visual QA at desktop, tablet, and phone widths
  • Archiving terms, pricing, or ad placements as dated evidence
  • Collecting competitor landing pages for a swipe file
  • Adding a full-page capture to a bug report or client presentation
  • Generating link previews and thumbnails in your own product with the API

Frequently asked questions

Is this website screenshot tool free?
Yes. You can take up to 50 screenshots a day without an account. To capture more pages or automate screenshots, the Context.dev website screenshot API costs 1 credit per screenshot, and the free plan includes 1,000 credits every month.
Can I take a full-page screenshot of a long page?
Yes. Choose Full page and the tool captures the whole document, from the top of the page to the footer, as one tall image. Very long pages produce very tall images, so open the image in a new tab to see it at full size.
Which screen sizes can I capture?
Desktop (1920 × 1080), Laptop (1440 × 900), Tablet (768 × 1024), Mobile (390 × 844). The width decides which responsive layout the page shows, so the Mobile size captures the phone version of the site.
Does the tool hide cookie banners and popups?
Yes. Before the capture, the browser dismisses cookie consent banners and other popups and overlays it detects. Overlays it does not recognize can still appear in the image.
Can I screenshot a page that needs a login?
No. The tool loads pages as a logged-out visitor and only accepts public URLs. Pages behind a login, a paywall, or a private network cannot be captured.
Why does my screenshot show an older version of the page?
A screenshot of the same URL and settings can be reused for up to 24 hours. With the website screenshot API you can set maxAgeMs to 0 to force a fresh capture every time.
Can I take a screenshot in dark mode?
The tool captures the page in its default theme. The website screenshot API accepts sharedParams.theme set to dark, which renders sites that style themselves with prefers-color-scheme in their dark version.
